For this year’s Mother’s Day campaign, we handed the spotlight to someone unexpected: five-year-old Brigette, who took on the role of ‘mum’ for a day. With all the wisdom of a seasoned grown-up (and the joy of someone who still thinks bedtime is negotiable), she showed us that love, care, and cosiness don’t need to be complicated. We sat down for a very serious interview...
Brigette, you were the star of our Mother’s Day video! What was your favourite part about pretending to be a mum?
Wearing the fancy linen top from Eadie. And getting to say things like “no more mugs” and pointing my finger like a grown up.
You were very good at being a mum in the video. What do you think mums do all day?
They do everything. Like make snacks, and carry lots of bags, and know where all the missing socks are. And they say “I love you” and “don’t touch that” a lot. Also they’re very good at cuddles.
You wore Eadie’s Ava Top in the video. How did it make you feel?
Like a princess. Or a very soft marshmallow. I did a spin in it and it whooshed. I think all mums should have one so they can feel fancy - even when they’re just making toast.
What’s your favourite Eadie thing in your house?
The cushions. They’re squishy and fluffy and good for jumping on. But you’re not supposed to jump on them. So I just give them big cushion hugs instead.
If you were picking a Mother’s Day gift, what would you choose?
Um… a linen robe, and a soft cushion, and one of those big throws so mum can wrap up in it on the sofa. And maybe a nap. I think my mum would like a nap.
What do you think is the most important job of a mum?
To love you even when you don’t listen. And to know how to fix everything, like broken toys and sad hearts. Mums are like superheroes, but with better outfits.
What would you say to your mum on Mother’s Day?
I would say… “You’re the best mum ever, even when you make me eat broccoli.” And then I’d give her my last lolly. That’s how much I love her.
Brigette may be five, but her instincts are spot on - comfort, connection and a whole lot of love is what really counts. This Mother’s Day, gift the moments that matter with something thoughtful from our Gift Guide - made for the ones who do it all.
