Are linen curtains see through?
Our semi-sheer curtains are not transparent, meaning they offer privacy but they still let in a soft amount of natural light. For extra privacy from your white linen curtain, or to keep out more light for sleeping, combine our linen curtains with venetian blinds or heavier backing curtains.
How to wash linen curtains?
Always check the care label for special instructions. Most linen curtains in Australia can be washed in a standard washing machine, but wash them separately from other fabrics if possible, and separate into lights and darks. Wash on a cold gentle or handwash cycle, as hot water may cause linen to shrink or weaken the fibres, with a delicate detergent and no bleach. To hand wash, soak in a cold water and a little detergent for 10 minutes, then swoosh the fabric around with your hands. Do not twist or scrub the fabric, as this can damage the fibres. Rinse, and line dry.
How to remove water stains from linen curtains?
Water stains on curtains are a common occurrence, especially during winter when condensation appears on windows. To get water stains out of your linen curtains, soak your curtains in a bucket of distilled white vinegar for up to an hour. Then pull them out and gently squeeze out excess vinegar, then mix laundry detergent and water in the bucket and swoosh curtains around in that mixture. Soak for up to an hour, then rinse thoroughly and air dry.
