The saying “good things come in small packages” couldn’t be more true when talking about Wildernest Tiny House. An eco friendly, off the grid property hidden away in the Southern Highlands - this is a place made for reconnecting with nature.
After a few decades of living in the big smoke, owners Amanda & James, made the move to the country. Craving room for their kids to roam, a space they could grow fresh produce and a desire to tread a light environmental footprint, the family headed to the Southern Highlands in New South Wales.
A beautiful big window at T2 makes the most of the landscape
Creating a place for their city friends to escape the city and unwind, led to the construction of T1 and T2. Two architecturally designed, sustainably built tiny houses, both small in size but not short on life’s little luxuries.
Recently Milayne from our Eadie team, came back raving about her weekend away at Wildernest. Here she shares some words on her stay…
Since learning of the Wildernest Tiny House I've wanted to visit as it looked so beautiful. My boyfriend and I decided to stay last month for some much-needed relaxation and disconnection from the world, and we couldn't have asked for more.
The driveway entrance to the properties
As soon as we arrived it felt as though we had the world to ourselves. The drive through the properties to get to the T1 house was so beautiful. The first thing we saw as we drove up the driveway was a mother kangaroo and her joey hopping across the property.
A kitchen will all the amenities at T2
The Tiny House was complete with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and felt very spacious. The day bed is great for relaxing with a book, the Eadie Bedlinen so cosy for morning sleep ins and the rain water is perfect for drinking.

The fire pit was our favourite place to spend the evening with the supplied marshmallows & hot chocolates. Sitting under the stars, by the fire was so peaceful.

The bush walks were a highlight too as we saw lots of wildlife - kangaroos, wombats, birds. I'd highly recommend the experience to anyone looking to get away and relax.
