Here at Eadie, we are savouring the slower pace the winter months bring. Our focus is shifting to creating cosy spaces to enjoy quiet nights by the fire nurturing the body and soul. With this in mind, we asked Eadie Lifestyle’s Creative Director, Trudie Cox, for some tips on how to add warmth to your home this winter.
Let it throw, let it throw, let it throw
A chunky, textured throw is a must in winter. A warm, cosy space requires layers and throws are ideal for achieving this look. Throws are also just like wrapping yourself in your favourite jumper, making a night on the sofa with Netflix even more appealing. And a bed throw can be my saviour in the middle of a chilly night!

Time for your curtain call
Aside from adding an extra layer of texture and depth, curtains are so practical too. 40% of a home’s heat can be lost through windows so dressing them with some luxurious linen curtains or velvet drapes makes perfect sense. They also evoke a cocoon like feeling when closed on a wintery night.

As smooth as velvet
With its luxurious tactile nature, velvet is the ultimate winter warming choice. It has the fabulous ability to elevate a space through the simple addition of a few velvet cushions. And with so many colours to choose from, it’s ideal for adding some much needed colour to your abode on grey days.

In living colour
The change of seasons heralds a change of colour palette too. Updating the tones and textures of your cushions, throws and bed linen is a quick and convenient way to add warmth to your haven in winter. Choose sumptuous texture, opulent velvet and linen (yes linen!) to update your space. Eadie linen is not only made to treasure for years to come, it’s also self-regulating to keep you warm and snug on cool nights.

Light my fire
Nothing says ‘winter warmth’ quite like a fireplace. Sitting by an open fire with a glass a of red is one of my favourite ways to spend a frosty afternoon. The next best thing? A long hot bath with candles burning and no interruptions!

Snug as a rug
Rugs are as practical as they are stylish during the cooler months. Slipping out of bed on a cold winter’s morning to find cold floorboards underfoot is no fun. A quality rug can create a whole mood - adding that much needed warmth and comfort as well as protecting your floorboards from wear and tear.
