Staying in is a great time to try a new skill or learn a new recipe. And because love is in the dessert, we have the most delicious orange frosted and poppy seed cake recipe you simply must try!
CAKE INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup almond meal
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar/sweetener
- 2 tbs poppyseed
- Zest of 1 orange (leaving some for frosting)
- Juice from 1/2 orange
- 1/3 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
FROSTING INGREDIENTS:
- 1 block lite cream cheese
- 2 tbs honey
- Juice from 1/2 orange
- Handful of orange zest
METHOD:
- Preheat the oven to 180C.
- Combine all cake ingredients in a bowl.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until golden.
- Leave to cool.
- Combine frosting ingredients in a bowl.
- Spread frosting over the cake & sprinkle extra poppy seeds & orange zest.
- Enjoy!
